Coverage For Retirees
As you deal with your financial concerns going into retirement, one important thing to keep in mind is health insurance. During your retirement, it’s crucial to ensure that your health and well-being are protected. At Retirement and Insurance Services of Florida, LLC, we offer Under-65 Healthcare Marketplace Insurance. So, if you retire before reaching age 65 and lose your job-based health plan when you do, you can use the Health Insurance Marketplace to purchase a new plan. If you lost your job-based coverage and want to enroll, get in contact with us today to learn more.
Enrolling In Health Insurance Coverage
There are a variety of Health Insurance Marketplace plans to choose from. These options offer coverage not only for medical care, but also dental and vision. Get in contact with us to learn about the services and plans available and what they cover. During the Marketplace Open Enrollment Period, you can select a plan, continue or make changes to your current plan, or choose a plan to replace your current one. If you retire prior to reaching age 65, causing you to lose your job-based health plan, you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, allowing you to enroll in a health plan even if it’s outside the normal Open Enrollment Period.
Medicare Supplement and Advantage Plan Coverage
We also offer Medicare plan coverage to help you cover medical costs not covered by Medicare Parts A and B. These include Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplemental Plans.
Medicare Advantage bundles Original Medicare Parts A and B into one plan. It typically includes Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage). To join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you must be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B and live in the plan’s service area. Some plans may also offer extra benefits, such as routine dental, vision, and hearing services.
A Medicare supplement plan, also called Medigap, is extra coverage you can purchase to help pay the out-of-pocket expenses that traditional Medicare doesn’t. You can apply to purchase a Medicare supplement plan at any time. However, you must be 65 years or older and enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B.
